The Beginning

Blue Angel Connect was founded back in 2016 when the 11-year-old daughter (Nicole) of a police officer decided that she wanted to change the perception of the way the law enforcement was viewed in the community. It was her goal to show that police officers did a lot more for their community than just writing tickets and taking people to jail. These officers give back to the community in many ways and this sometimes goes unnoticed.  

Blue Angel Connect was formed as another way to show and support this community giveback.

Blue Angel Connect is best known for our annual Holiday Hope Christmas program. 

Each year, deserving families were selected by resources within the community to provide a “surprise” Christmas to the entire family. They had no idea of what was in store for them. These selected families received gifts for the entire family as well as food to make a complete family Christmas meal to enjoy over the holiday.  Local law enforcement, along with members of Blue Angel Connect and other volunteers, showed up “unannounced” to the houses, along with Mr. and Mrs. Claus to deliver Christmas. 

Families had no idea what was happening when several police cars with red/blue lights on, showed up along with all these other volunteers and began pulling gifts out from the cars. It was a Christmas they did not expect, nor did they think they were going to have. Our event has even been featured several times on WTHR and WISH-TV. You can see pictures from these events over the years here on our website. The number of tears of joy we have seen over the years has been tremendous and we were all excited to be part of that joy.

Although our Vice President Brent has retired from law enforcement, the mission of Blue Angel Connect has changed slightly, yet stayed the same. We continue to work with any local law enforcement agency that would like our assistance, however, we have expanded our horizons to work with and assist other local organizations whenever possible. Our annual Holiday Hope program is scheduled to continue each year and we will continue to help as many families as possible with the funds we have available.
